Two of my favorite sports are running and mountain biking. I run much more than I hit the trails, but mountain biking is a way for me to cross train and allow my muscles to recover. There are hundreds of miles of running trails around me and there are over 100 miles of singletrack mountain biking trails around the Twin Cities.

When I run or bike, I like to listen to music and podcasts. I don’t always do that but I do enjoy it to forget about the miles that I have to run or enjoy listening to something while I am on the trails for a couple hours. I am in a densely populated area of downtown Minneapolis, which means there are cars, buses, bikes and the new Lime Scooters everywhere. I constantly need to be aware of what’s around me, even on the trails as other mountain bikers want to pass.

I want to listen to music and podcasts, but I also need to be able to hear everything around me. This is why I absolutely love my AfterShokz Trekz Air. These are bone conduction headphones which sit near your ear rather than in your ear. This allows me to get all the benefits of listening to music, and it keeps my ears open to hear everything around me.

Other awesome features include; Bluetooth connection without any wires, sleek design that is not intrusive, water resistance for when it rains or just sweats, and a badass color that makes them look sweet! The small design allows them to fit right under my helmet when I mountain bike allowing me to hear other bikers approaching me.

Also, I hate to admit this, but I have two funky ears. They are different, so most headphones do not work for me. They fall out or at least one of the earbuds falls out. The AfterShokz Trekz Air are perfect because they do not need to be in my ears. This allows me to never have to worry about having them fall out of my ear.

I’ve been wearing the AfterShokz headphones for over three years now and the new AfterShokz Trekz Air are my second pair. I have bought four pairs for my friends for gifts and they love them too. Check out AfterShokz
